When we moved to China, we purchased an old worn-down kindergarten school and turned it into a cheerful and lovely home for unwanted, special needs children. It was our desire that every child who comes would experience the love of a mother and father in a place they could call home. We have the greatest honor to care for many babies and children who have been abandoned, abused, and neglected. They are rare treasures, hidden behind deformities, disabilities and social prejudices. In our children, we see rare beauty, grace, and love—they are our valuable hidden treasures. We often say that one smile from the most ill baby is worth more than any paycheck we ever received from our former life.
